Hair Removal with IPL
IPL technology can be used to remove unwanted hair on both men and women.
IPL (intense pulsed light) treatment reduces or removes unwanted hair from your face and body. This technology uses a full light spectrum, taking light energy and converting it into heat energy to reduce unwanted hair growth in target areas. This gentle, non-ablative process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects.
- Because treatment is quick, gentle and non-invasive, there is no interruption of routine activities.
- By removing or reducing the amount of unwanted hair, the result is overall smoother, more luminous skin.
- Results are dramatic within a very short time period.
How hair removal works
A broad spectrum of light is transmitted through a small, smooth, transparent handpiece which is gently placed over the skin. The wavelength range can be adjusted, allowing it to be optimized for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed hair shafts or roots, thus vaporizing them. The heat also destroys hair follicles and other hair producing agents.
IPL hair removal treatments often consist of four to six treatments of the face or isolated body areas like the underarms or bikini line administered at three week intervals.
IPL hair removal treatments are performed by Dr. Ganchi’s highly trained esthetician, Allison, at his New Jersey office.
